It comes with three different grit stones to assure the best sharpening results everytime. - The grit 800 is a coarse and rough stone, usually used on very dull knives - The 3000 grit stone is a medium one, we recommend using it te refine the edge. - The finishing stone, grit 8000, replaces the leather strap and lets a bright and smooth finish on the edge. The kit comes with a manual on how to use it.

At coarse and medium grit sizes, synthetic whetstones actually perform better than natural stones. Ours are made from professional grade aluminium oxide ceramic material. This has been calcinated at high temperature for durability and to prevent cracks. The result of all this is a stone which is fast cutting, gives great feedback and is slow wearing.
